About Matt and Brad

We’re Matt and Brad,

We’re here to take the stress out of your water solutions.

As home owners, hobby farmers, Dads, and community members here on Salt Spring Island, we get it.  We’ve both spent time being the destroyer of all water joy in our own lives. It’s actually how we met.

I (Brad), a mechanical engineer, was new to the island, and needed a potable water system BAD! They save marriages you know.

Matt, longtime islander had been Running his own Irrigation and Water Solutions business for years, but was always coming up against a classic island need, good trades. Mechanical engineers are hard to come by in the Gulf Islands and he swooped in and called dibs.

Now I  sleep better, knowing my family, and yours, has what we need to remove the stress and anxiety that comes with having a finite supply of water on our little island.

Knowing that our guests can feel at home when they visit without an hour long lecture regarding water conservation, while also taking the pressure off of our well and our planet allows me to feel good about the way we live our life, grow our gardens and even power wash our patio.

Imagine all the energy you can reclaim when you aren’t worried about our worlds most valuable resource every minute of every day.

We’re here to help you get that energy back, and make a positive impact on the planet and your community while you do it.

  1. Matt Bio:

Calculated risks, to improve your life. Create a life we wanted, instead of creating the life we thought we needed.

Matt started his career within the water industry as an irrigation technician and installer more than 20 years ago, later becoming a certified irrigation designer and cross connection control specialist (backflow prevention) with IIABC & BCWWA.  Recognizing the importance of water conservation and water use efficiency, it was a natural choice to focus on rain water harvesting system design & construction.

By completing a level 200 ARCSA course in 2009 and later gaining certification as a RWH designer in 2014 with both ARCSA and CANARM, Matt has a go to expert in the field working along side of the gulf islands best contractors such as, ______, __________, ________.

gained hands-on experience with the design and construction of potable and non-potable systems within the gulf island region since 2012.

  1. Brad Bio:

  2. Brad’s family landed on Salt Spring looking to escape the city and slow down. Water water was everywhere. Though his butt puckered whenever the sprinkler was on. Queue meeting Matt, the rainwater guy. Coincidence - one of the hurdles Matt had when building rainwater systems, was needing an engineer.  Well as luck would have it, Brad is a mechanical engineer. You can write the rest of the story.  When Brad isn’t designing rainwater systems, he is offering project advisory services. And when he isn’t working, he is on an adventure with the kids.

2009 PEng.

I grew up in a small town like many SSI’s they go out into the world, and then they miss all the things that made their lives magical growing up, I too came from a small town but went looking for a better one.

Project Advisory, I love the technical side of things. I like to do it right. To figure out how to pull it apart.
